Biku's CNE Birthday Pt. 2!

Biku's CNE Birthday Pt. 2!

My partner Victoria was supposed to spend her birthday at the CNE, but a huge storm had other plans for us. It was supposed to be a non-holiday Monday for our visit. We had play-all-day passes and we planned on taking advantage of them.

Alas, it wasn't, to be.

We went on the Labour Day long weekend Sunday instead and I was absolutely slammed.

Every single ride had a line about a half hour long. It was so bad that we only really got one ride in.

After it was revealed that we had lined up in the express line, which our tickets were not any use for, and had spent about 20 minutes doing so, we all felt a bit fed-up.

We were, however, able to take advantage of the strange eats on offer in the Food Hall!

We had some lovely Korean Tacos and Bao with our friend Marc, who had purchased a Korean hotdog for himself.

After that we took in the sights of the "Hobbies" exhibit and the main exhibitor hall with wares to sell.

That was fairly pleasant, and more our speed than enduring the droves of people.

We had hoped to end our trip with a gondola ride, but even that had a line which snaked around all the other booths in the eastern end of the lot.

Victoria gave up on that after Marc left and we vowed instead to try out the strawberry tanghulu booth!

Having achieved this, we agreed it had been a good enough time and we both wanted to be home. Aching and sufficiently whelmed, we did so.

I hope the CNE becomes something better than this. Right now it's just a worse version of Canada's Wonderland. Including the wall-to-wall people and screaming kids, even after dark.
